"Balade dans Notre-Dame, carnet de chantier" offers a unique and intimate exploration of one of the greatest heritage restoration projects of our time: the reconstruction of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris following the fire of April 15, 2019. Through on-site drawings by Axelle, a young architect involved in this titanic project, her daily observations, and testimony of her emotions facing the wounded edifice, this work offers a behind-the-scenes look at a monument whose wounds are being healed. Interspersed with archival documents that appear as watermarks, this sensitive narrative bridges the cathedral's glorious past, its temporary ruin, and its metamorphosis.
